London Fashion Week

London fashion week #lfw Friday 15th February - Tuesday 17th February 2013 one of the highest profile fashion events in the world. As one of the 'big four' alongside New York, Paris and Milan, LFW puts British design firmly on the global stage, showcasing ready to wear collections from Burberry to Peter Pilotto. For my first blog post I wanted to share some of my highlights for Autumn/Winter 2013/14.

Mary Katrantzou

I first came across Katrantzou February 2012 when I was visiting London and her capsule collection for Topshop was unveiled, I was immediately drawn to the vibrant prints and ornate colours. Her AW 13/14 collection did not disappoint,  inspired by photographer Edward Steichen's moody landscapes concentrating on a monochrome palette with soft injections of colour. Oversized was a key word in Katrantzou's collection with voluminous structures and silhouettes.

These are a few of my favourites from the collection.

Unique

Topshop unique by Emma Farrow,  I am Topshops BIGGEST FAN but i'm sure every twenty year old says that. So when I first learnt that Topshop were taking over the catwalk I was ecstatic. Cara Delevingne opened the show with a strong 90's Brit pop silhouette a combination of boxy structures and the oversized. The long haired furs, brushed mohair, sequins and high shine patents attracted me to this 'touchy-feely' collection. This show consisted of a contrasting colour palette to match the rest of the collection, featuring black on black against soft pinks and the unmissable baby blue eye shadow.
